“If you already have health insurance, the only thing that will change under my plan is that we will lower your premiums. If you don't have health insurance, you'll be able to get the same kind of health insurance that members of Congress give themselves”
---Senator Barack Obama, Closing Argument Speech (FULL VIDEO), Canton, Ohio, 10/27/2008.
Didn’t the president promise during the campaign to provide for the American people the same platinum healthcare that Congress now enjoys? Why then is the President (and Congress) proposing for the American people, a healthcare insurance program that is very inferior to what Congress currently enjoys? I thought President Obama was voted into office to eliminate the “special interests and to help “equalize the playing field”? He doesn’t talk about equal healthcare with Congress anymore. If Obama’s healthcare plan is so good for the rest of us, Obama’s bill in Congress should make it mandatory for all members of the House and Senate, the Whitehouse staff, and their families, to sign up for the same plan. Don’t you all agree? In other words, let’s eliminate the current Congress’ platinum healthcare plan or sign all of us for their platinum healthcare insurance plan. Are the members of Congress superior to the American people? Washington politicians should not force me and my family to consume a product too inferior for them and their families. Already, there will be at least two types of healthcare in America if Obama gets his way, one for the wealth-distributors in Washington, and another for the rest of us (wealth-earners) in America.

At least he is trying to do something about this health care system. When the republicans were in charge, all they did was play into the status quo and let the growing multi billion dollar health insurance companys block any healthcare reform. I want to know your solutions to help get america stop the rapid cost of health care. All I hear from the party of NO - is No. I will take a Gold healthcare plan if I cant get a platinum plan because at least it will be better than what I have now which is nothing. I had to drop my health care plan offered by my employer because it was too expensive so I applaud what Obama is doing. America is the land of choic and freedom so he is offering another path of healtchare choice for people like me and I welcome it.
ReplyDeleteMblekan,
ReplyDeleteIt is not enough to “do something” about health care. You must identify any problem and surgically target that problem without damaging the best quality health care system in the world. Obama is ordering the amputation of an arm bitten by a mosquito.
I don’t have any solutions because I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH MY HEALTH INSURANCE. I am one of the 84% of Americans shown in recent polls to be very happy with the quality of their health care. If the Democrats will give me a break on my taxes, that will help reduce my health care cost even further.
I am sorry that you are one of the 9% of Americans without health insurance. I think if you cannot afford health care and you don’t qualify for Medicare, yes, you should receive some kind of assistance towards health care based on your income level. But, what I oppose is the destruction of my great personal health care (great for 84% of Americans) in the name of providing for the 9% who don’t have any.
1. Obama wants to forcefully publish my personal, private health care information online.
2. Obama wants to prevent me from purchasing a new policy if I switch jobs or dislike my current insurance policy.
3. Obama wants to control the relationship between my doctor and I. He wants to interfere with the most private life and death decisions in my life.
4. Obama wants to visit my home and dictate how many children I should have and how often.
5. Obama’s plan wants my mother to attend a humiliating end-of-life sessions.
ETC.
If any of these is new to you, then you need to do some more research about his health care bill before your next post.
If this is how Obama plans to destroy my family, then I want him to fail so my family can succeed.
I am not Republican. I am a Conservative registered as an Independent. If you want to know more about the GOP health care plan, you should read it here (http://www.gop.gov/solutions/healthcare).
Did Obama lie when he promised a Congress-grade health plan system for all Americans during the campaign and he now that he is President, he is singing to another tune? I want an answer.
Thanks for posting.
Where are you getting the lies that Obama wants to force you to change your health care if you switch jobs; or wanting your mother to attend end of life sessions. You are picking and choosing words that you want to appease your appetite for finding fault. If you listened correctly, he stated that he will make these services available to anyone that wants to use them.
ReplyDeleteHow is he damaging the current health care by providing more affordable options? I thought that was what america is all about? Freedom and liberty to choose! You can decide to choose whether you want to switch to the public health plan or not.
I was so dissapointed by msnbc for airing one of the town hall debate by arlin spector on healthcare. What bothered me was their motive for constantly airing this segment. It shows a young woman going off on a tantrum about her concerns on healthcare reform change about how it will destroy ?????????. She was clueles to what she was fighting for. I guess she had some frustration and thought since everyone was complaining about something she will join in and complain about nothing she understood. I call this ZEAL WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE!!!!!. At least be informed before opening your mouth about something. I later understood why this segment was played so often........to let her know how ignorant she acted and was. If most of the people would listen first before speaking, they will learn a thing or two about the proposed health bill. Most of the whiners I believe have ulterior motives and that they are there to complain about different reasons but just using this healtcare reform as a cover. Check out the link for this videao. Healtcare Reform oponent Plays hardball

Answer to your question about Obamas promise. If I remember correctly, he said that this is his goal or want for the american people when he campainged.
You have no solution to the rising health care crisis facing america because you are not in touch with the real world right now. You are satisfied with your health care plan because you are able to afford it and therefore you are insensitive to what is realy going on out there. Too bad! Some people are suffering out there and all you can do is fight and complain about what is not good instead of focusing on assisting with finding a solution. You do sound like you are with the party of no. I consider myself a conservative and I run my home like it.
This was said out of love brother. No hard feelings. Just my opinion.

I agree with you that people are suffering. But why? Because of Obama's failed policies.
How many jobs have been lost under this President? How many homes have been foreclosed on under this president? It is Obama's job to find solutions to these problems--that is why we hired him. All he has done is acquire more power and taken over more industries while people are suffering daily.
No wonder his approval ratings has dropped to 47%.
